Super excited!

I finally got all the letters together that I wrote to my kids as they were growing up.  I am going to compile everything and create a book.  I know it’s been done before, sort of, but this one will be different, because it is our story.  I even have the letters I wrote to my husband when he passed away in 1986.

I guess being a hoarder has it’s advantages!

I hope to have this project finished by the end of April.

Woo Hoo!  Loving life!

As time draws near…..

As I approach the deadline I gave myself, I am feeling a bit more anxiety.

What if people don’t like my poetry?  What if…..I worry too much about any negative feedback I might receive.  I guess we all go through this.

It won’t stop me from trying, though.  I will keep plugging away because I have to.  I have to get these feelings and ideas out of my head!

It’s Monday folks, made it a good one.

Website is up and running…..

Ok, I think I am ready to share a part of myself with the world.

Just keep in mind, I am new at this.  I cannot afford to have a professional handle this for me, not yet anyway.

I figured more exposure concerning my writing is a good thing?!

Anyway, if you are interested, the url is

If you see a typo, let me know.  It’s early yet and I’ve only had one cup of coffee.

Have a great weekend!

Busy, busy, busy…..

I have not blogged in a while.  I’ve been so busy.  I started working on my new web site, writing poetry, going to the pool to exercise, and working my part-time job.

I’ve been busy, but life is still good!  I am hoping, fingers crossed, that I will be finished with my first book of poetry by the end of March.  I am excited about sharing it with the world!

It’s only Tuesday, but keep plugging away….the weekend will be here before you know it.

I found something amazing this morning!

I knew there was a reason why I kept everything.  But, I am not a hoarder, LOL.

I found the booklet, dated 1975, with my first published poems.  I was in high school at the time!

I will post them here.  I might even put them in my book, just for giggles.

The waves come and wash
Ashore on the beach, just like
Memories of men.

Kind of cheesy, right?  Well, read this one, LOL…

Falling in Love

Falling in love can
be a hurting kind of thing
if you’re not careful

Even though they are not very good, those are something I treasure.

True Story….

This morning I was reviewing an old poem I wrote, trying to decide if I would include it in my collection.  It was a very emotional piece because it was about a boy I went to school with many years ago.  Something went wrong in his life and he brutally raped and killed a young mother of two small children.

I decided to try and research his name and I found a court document concerning his case….

W-O-W…..I knew some of the details, but not all of them.  I never knew that much about him and we lost touch after high school.  The document said he had suffered for years with mental illness and he was a paranoid schizophrenic.  He claimed to have an imaginary friend who told him to do bad things.

Not sure if I will include this poem.  It was so upsetting to me then, and it still is now.

Hope your Monday is better than mine has been!
